Steve Andrew Schultz's Bio

Steven Andrew Schultz is a writer, teacher, and public servant. He is currently a School Board Trustee of an elementary and middle school district with 700 employees, 6,000 students, ten schools, across two cities and is also a high school teacher. In his first nine years the students voted him Teacher of the Year twice. His thoughts and ideas on education and leadership have been nationally published in Educational Leadership Magazine multiple times and in the books A+ Teaching, Hey Leader: Wake Up and Hear the Feedback, and he has a dozen stories of his published in ten different Chicken Soup for the Soul books. His teachings on leadership have been used by police and fire departments to train their officers and his articles have been used in multiple boardrooms, classrooms, churches, and organizations. Steve wrote a monthly magazine column called Difference Makers about leadership, love, and ethics for eleven years published in Fountain Valley Living Magazine. Mr. Schultz is the author of the yet to be released book Teeter Totter Leader and multiple children’s books.  

Steve Schultz has been a speaker for the America On Track Leadership Program at University of California Irvine and for various organizations and events. He served Los Alamitos High School for seven years where he taught team building and leadership classes for the Griffin Varsity Basketball Program and has coached high school basketball teams for seventeen years, including being a head varsity boys’ basketball coach, an assistant varsity basketball coach, head junior varsity and freshmen basketball coach. Mr. Schultz has two teaching credentials in English and Sociology, a bachelor’s degree in Sociology, and a master’s degree in Coaching Leadership and Administration. Steve is a dedicated community volunteer and has also served as a Bible School teacher. He was born in Newport Beach and raised in Fountain Valley, California. The message he wants to get across to his writing students is: don’t ask yourself if you’re a good writer, ask yourself if you’re using your writing to do good.
